Hey everyone I am currently enrolled in the Job corps program and I am in Sedro-Woolley, Wa. (Cascade Job Corps formerly Northern State Hospital) Many say that this place is haunted but I couldn' really tell you. Anyways I was wondering if any of you out there had any information on this place. Some say that there is a lot ofreakky @#%$ that goes down here but you never know. This place was the first to pioneer the labotamy. But thats about all I know at this time I am still searching and any information would be greatlt appreciated.thank you all.

i am generally of the opinion that mental hospitals, by their very nature, tend to be fertile breeding grounds for ghastly urban legends of evil hauntings...i am also somewhat of the belief that certain places are more likely to hold "the impressions" of raw emotions which were experienced there. perhaps there is some truth which lays beyond the fear/lure that these places generate among young or impressionable (perhaps read sensitive?) persons?
has anyone knowledge of paranormal investigations in hospitals and institutions other then Dixmont or Eastern State? I have some pictures of a morgue in a NY hospital. where nothing visual was first observed, photos show a "white mist" eminating only from open drawers in room....got me thinking...hhmmm.... |

 with regards to hauntings...it is my belief that the very nature of an abandoned asylum is often enough to breed urban legends of evil and hauntings, particularly among more impressionable (sensititive?) persons...but all gory stories aside...is there any truth to it? i have read bout investigations at Eastern State Penitentiary, and Dixmont.... have any of the other listed * asylums been formally investigated? anyone have photos or other data that may suggest this? i have a very interesting photo from pilgrim state hospital. it shows a "mist" eminating from three open drawers in the morgue... hmmm...could be something? my grandmother was layed out in one of those drawers some 29 years ago...got me thinking... |

There was an Asylum near Salina,KS. It was said to be haunted. Unfortunately all that remains is the foundation and a little cemetery. It is still said to be a very haunted area. I have seen the little cemetery. No head stones just little white crosses with a plaque of possible people buried there.

there is a hospital in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Bryce Hospital. It is haunted. The main building was used up into the mid 1990's and was built around 1850. I was there from March 1993- to November 1996.
I saw unspeakable things. Cold patches, weird flashes of light in the corners. Hearing wind in my ears with al the doors closed. Sneaked into the old abandoned morgue.. Horrible feeling and bad smell. Onsite is what was known as "ward x" it housed black mental patients before the hospital was integrated in the 1960's. |

i walked through the old buildings and i have seen alot of old files of the old patients at penhurst.i have walked through the tunnels also,it is creepy.Q and T buildings are haunted.there are people that i have met that have worked there when it first opened.the stories were of course verified.In Dec 2003 the bottom half of penhurst was sold.who ever bought it ,they are planning on doing away with the bottom half to build a new housing developement there. well let the hauntin begin. i used to work in the kitchen on the lower campus.that place is amazing.just from my experieces bein there for 4 years. the place is over run with asbestos. good luck to the people that have it now....

the above mentioned place is haunted. i worked there and i have experienced some disturbings .the place is creepy lookin and it frightened some people away that were hired to work with me, and my fellow co-workers. :smokin

mental Hospital has got to be the most haunted asylum i've ever been to.... my mom is friends with Rob Coover so i've been inside it was spooky... and i'm going back you there this spring but this place is so scary you'll wet yourself... |

I do believe in ghosts, I have seen them before. Never in any asylum though. I have spent a decent amount of time at Pennhurst and its not haunted, there is also security and a national guard base right there. I have also spent a decent amount of time at byberry and Ive never seen anything outa the norm there either.
Ohh and as far as Dixmount good luck. There is cameras all over the place,inc in the buildings. The owner isn't in the habit of giving out permission either from what I have heard. I also know people who have spent some time there and they have never seen anything that might be a haunting. |

I am a nurse here in OH, and there is a haunted asylum in hinckley, u can feel all the negative energy when driving out in the woods where the asylum is located..and i have been by there many times, and the other night when i went by there, i noticed a light on down in the valey(which has never been on before)..and there is a security sys on the grounds, but its a "Gillmore" secua tech. which went out of business in 1972 so i am going to investigate tonight!!

MY HUSBAND AND I LIVE ABOUT 2 MINS. AWAY FROM THERE.MY HUSBAND GREW UP ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE OLD STATE HOSP. HIS MOM STILL LIVES BY THERE.THERE ARE 4 CEMETERY'S ON THE GROUNDS.THE ONE U ARE TALKING ABOUT THE HEADSTONE HAVE NO# BUT NO NAMES.THAT IS ALSO WHERE THE FAMOUS WEEPING ELM TREE IS.IT SITS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CEMETERY.MY HUSBAND SAYS ITS CREEPY.BUT MYSELF THINKS IT PEACEFUL AND BEAUTIFUL THERE.WE GO BY THERE 20 TIMES A WEEK.OUR KIDS THINK THAT SCREAM LIVES IN THERE.THEY ALWAYS WANT TO DRIVE THROUGH THERE.
