Is Bartonville and Peoria State Hospital the same place only with different names? I had an ancestor in the Peora State Hospital. I am trying to find out all the information I can about the place. Is there anyplace where I can obtain offical records from there?

Could you share with me all the research you've found on the Bartonville State Hospital? I'm researching my family history and discovered my greatgrandfather's sister was commited to the Peoria State Hospital. I'm trying to find out all I can about it. I'm really not interested in the "ghost stories", I'm more so interested in the patients and the care they received. I am also interested in any actual documentation I can find on my greatgrandfather's sister. She was there from 1904 until 1914. She died at the Peoria State Hospital.

Ive spent alot of time at the state hospital, Its a shame they are messing it up. It was like our own little ghost town. If anybody wants to share any Pictures, stories , websites or memories of the hospital check out my site and forum
